By Football Italian staffThe former Napoli coach is set to take over at Sampdoria on a three-year contract with the option to extend for a further year.
“I’m happy to be here,” Foggis said.
“It’s a very important project for us.”
Foggis took over as Sampdora boss on a two-year deal in January 2016 after Giovanni Stagno was sacked following an 18-month spell in charge.
He was instrumental in the club winning promotion to Serie A last season, but has been struggling to keep his side in the competition.
